We inspected archival Hubble and Spitzer images of NGC3184 (DM~30.4 mag) covering the location of the new intermediate-luminosity optical transient SN2010dn (M~-12.9 mag; CBAT #2299). No source is detected in WFPC2 images from 2001 March 2 UT to 3-sigma limits of 24.1 mag in F555W and 24.9 mag in F814W. This corresponds to absolute magnitude limits of >-6.3 mag and > > -5.5 mag, respectively. In addition, no source is detected in any of the IRAC images from 2004 November 26 UT to a rough 5-sigma limit of about 50 microJy at 3.6 micron, corresponding to a limit of L_nu<1025 erg/s/cm2/Hz.
