A detailed measurement of the distribution of 511 keV line radiation will be necessary to sort out the actual contributions of the many plausible positron sources. The OSSE instrument has measured well the flux in certain regions where it has been pointed long or often, but because of its small offset background subtraction technique and highly non-uniform exposure to date, it does not yet provide detailed constraints on the source distribution. Qualitatively and quantitatively different galactic distributions are consistent with the current data. In our opinion, claims of quantitative information about specific components, and of the existence of unforseen features are premature.
