The cost of a BVRI filter set puts many amateur astronomers off of performing filtered photometry and prevents their observations from being integrated into the body of observational records for objects of interest to the astro- nomical community. Results from the observations of Landolt standard stars made with inexpensive Wratten gelatin based photographic filters are present along with transformations of these results onto the Johnson-Cousins system. The suitability of the technique and its limitations are discussed.
