Two-dimensional numerical simulations of supernova explosions in the innermost 1pc of an AGN accretion disc are presented. It is found that the explosions do not disrupt the disc. However, they can induce a substantial angular momentum redistribution. Based on the explosion rate derived from the frequency of stellar captures by the disc from the stellar core of the parent galaxy, it is estimated that supernovae provide a rate of angular momentum transfer corresponding to alpha~0.1-1 in the standard accretion disc model.
