A discrepancy in Love numbers derived from astronomical time observations based on Mf and Mm waves is investigated. It is suggested that this discrepancy might be explained by errors in allowing for nutation or by some other observational errors. Biweekly and monthly waves of the coordinated AT1c-UT2 system are found to have little effect on the derivation of Love number. It is shown that the amplitude of the sinusoidal signal is reduced when the astronomical observations are rounded off and that clock corrections should be calculated with an accuracy of 0.0001 to 0.00001 sec. Waves detected in UT observations are discussed which are caused by tidal oscillations of the plumb line and by variations in earth's polar moment of inertia. It is concluded that after these waves are excluded, astronomical time observations may be used to study virtually all waves of the short-period nutation.
