We explore the relation between the iron abundances and the types of dust grains in a sample of Galactic bulge and disk planetary nebulae (PNe). Although all the PNe have low gaseous iron abundances, consistent with iron depletion into dust grains, the range of values covers two orders of magnitude. These differences in the iron depletion factors could be related to different condensation efficiencies of iron atoms into dust grains in C-rich and O-rich environments. However, we do not find any significant correlation with the presence of C-rich or O-rich dust grains, which argues for similar iron depletion efficiencies in both environments.
