The pulsar emission mechanism based on the plasma beam interaction is examined. The linear study shows that, due to obliquity of wave propagation and to magnetic field line curvature, the resulting unstable Langmuir waves have simultaneously electrostatic and electromagnetic features. The nonlinear analysis produces Langmuir solitons with associated electromagnetic features in a quite natural way. These features are compared to the characteristics of observed pulsar radio emission.
