Integrated UBVRIJKL colors for about 18,000 stars in the solar neighborhood are evaluated by starting from two main density distributions for stars of all spectral types and luminosity classes. Two rather different sets of results are obtained which show that variations due to input parameters, such as the equivalent width describing the distribution of stars perpendicular to the galactic plane and calibrations of magnitudes and colors, are less relevant than those due to the assumed space density distribution of the stars. The UBV colors are compared with observational data and theoretical models, and the best representative model for the solar neighborhood is selected. A detailed description of the photometric properties for this model is provided.
