A compact Gunn oscillator-multiplier combination can provide the local
oscillator power necessary for SIS receivers operating up to 1000 GHz.
Frequency multiplication factors of 2 to 8 are accomplished in a single
step using a Schottky mixer diode in the varistor mode.
