A unified model of particle acceleration (both electrons and ions) in planetary magnetotail due to explosive spontaneous reconnection is considered. It is shown that the inductive electric field is able to generate particle bursts with special velocity dispersion features. The proposed mechanism accelerates both species up to the MeV energies in the Earth's magnetosphere (but with the electron flux much lower than ion) and vice versa (practically only electrons) in the compact Mercury magnetosphere. The theory conforms with the experimental data obtained in terrestrial and Hermean magnetotails.
