The giant-branch star I-1 in NGC 188 has broad lines, indicative of rotation with v sin i = 24 km/s. During four years of observation it has had a constant radial velocity equal to the cluster velocity. In addition it has weak and possibly variable emission in the Ca H and K and H-alpha lines. In these respects, I-1 is similar to the FK Comae stars, although it exhibits slower rotation and much milder activity than the known FK Comae stars. It is likely to be a single star that has already evolved through the FK Comae state, having recently merged with a close binary companion. Its presence in a cluster helps to determine its properties more accurately than those of other FK Comae stars.
