The effective temperatures of the cepheids DT Cyg and SZ Tau have been determined from a comparison of their spectral scans with appropriate stellar model atmospheres. Using these temperatures and an independent Wesslink radius determination, the luminosities of the stars have been determined. The pulsation masses and the evolutionary masses of the stars have been discussed.
