An extensive model atom for a non-LTE line formation determination for N II is discussed. Based on B star model atmospheres, a grid of equivalent widths for over 35 N-II lines in the wavelength region from 4000-5000 A has been obtained in both non-LTE and LTE. An abundance determination for nitrogen in Tau Sco using the model atom demonstrates that the non-LTE analysis produces reliable results.
