We investigate the stability of wind accretion in a two-dimensional frame. We employ high-resolution numerical methods with dynamic mesh-refinement for the integration of the hydrodynamic equations. Attention is paid to well adapted physical and numerical boundary conditions. When comparing our results with earlier studies we point to correlations between the size of the accreting object and the onset of flip-flop instabilities.
