We request 6 nights on the CTIO 0.9-m telescope as part of the upcoming 2002 CTIO summer student programs. In past years, these observations were obtained on the Curtis Schmidt telescope, but the Schmidt will no longer be available to NOAO users after the end of the current (2001A) semester. A primary goal of this project is to provide instruction and experience for the CTIO summer students in observing techniques and procedures, and in using an astronomical telescope and CCD detector. We will observe RR Lyrae variable stars in conjunction with the Bowling Green State University Variable Star Project.
