We recently performed a Fourier decomposition of LMC 1H/2H beat Cepheids from the MACHO Project database. We found (i) a correlation between lightcurve shape and mode of pulsation, and (ii) Fourier parameters for the 2H mode are distinct from the 1H and F modes of pulsation over our sample period range (0.4 to 1.1 days). These results suggested singly-periodic 2H Cepheids, if they existed, would have periods less than 1.2 days, making them fainter than V=17.1 and Cousins R=16.9. The above period and magnitude constraints provide guidance on the region of luminosity and period in which we might expect singly-periodic 2H mode Cepheids to be found. In this paper we will report on the status of our search for these stars.
