We compare with helioseismological measurements the sound speeds computed from solar models that we have developed to calculate solar neutrino fluxes. The agreement is spectacularly good throughout essentially the entire sun. Solar models that do not include diffusion, or in which the interior of the sun is assumed to be significantly mixed, are ruled out by helioseismology. Standard solar models predict the measured properties of the sun more accurately than is required for applications involving solar neutrinos. These results strengthen the case that the discrepancies between observed and predicted solar neutrino fluxes are due to new physics.
