There are a number of optional special requirements available to an astronomer while preparing his/her HST phase II proposal. These special requirements are designed to provide sufficient flexibility to specify the scheduling requirements for proposed observations. Since these special requirements, either directly or indirectly, constrain the times when observations can be scheduled, they ultimately reduce the overall efficency of the telescope. We present examples showing the usage of special requirements so that scientific objectives of an observing program are acheived without putting undue constraints on the schedulability of the program.
