The last few years have brought considerable progress in the efforts to control the adverse effects of light pollution on astronomy. Several reports coming soon from the lighting community will be of great value in helping with the control efforts. Outdoor lighting control ordinances are showing up in many locales. The International Dark-Sky Association has been producing many resource items that are being used by professional and amateur astronomers in their local areas. These include information sheets, a newsletter, slide sets, and other items. Media coverage is increasing, and all of it is supportive of the issues. The paper will also suggest what can be done by those interested in getting involved.
