Based on a laboratory experimental model, we developed the principles of the design for a hardware-software complex of Fourier spectrometer operation, data collection and processing. The Fourier spectrometer is used for flight experiments in view of the requirements of reliability, speed, and energy consumption. The advantages of IBM compatible special PC as a system kernel over the digital signal processor are justified. Furthermore, the paper describes the implemented interface between the data processing system and device operation which helps to elaborate the requirements to the software and PC resources. We also give the results of test measurements of basic characteristics of an experimental Fourier spectrometer model.
