The WG ""The Future Development of Ground Based Astrometry"" was set up during the XXIVth IAU GA. During its three years of activity it organized two international meetings (one during JENAM 2001 the other during JOURNEES 2002) it has its own web site (www.astro.ro/wg.html)and had a large exchange of opinions with its members. New proposals for the future of the ground-based astrometry could be found on its web site.
