Dense Stellar Systems
Scientific paper
Most stars form in embedded star clusters with low star formation efficiencies. When the gas is expelled a large fraction of the stellar population expands outwards into the field of the host galaxy. The implications this process has on the morphological appearance of galaxies will be addressed using the example of thickened galactic disks.
