Problems involved in a mirror synthesis using two unit vector triplets in object and image space are analyzed. It is proposed to divide the mirror system calculation into two parts: (1) find the unit vectors of the normals of the reflecting surfaces from the given free-vector triads, and (2) determine the location of each reflecting surface from two given points, one of which is in the object space and the other is in the image space.
