X-Rays, Galaxies: Individual

Scientific paper

I report on the discovery of a bright ( ~ 0.15 counts s^ - 1, ROSAT band) serendipitous X-ray source in the ROSAT PSPC field of the cataclysmic variable EP Dra. The apparent optical counterpart shows the required optical characteristics of a Narrow Line X-ray Galaxy (NLXG) with a redshift of ~ 0.107. The X-ray luminosity can not be explained by starbursts. The H_beta luminosity is ~ 10^41 erg s^ - 1.
