An improved estimate is given of the critical X (or Higgs) boson mass above which XX(bar) or (HH/bar/) pairs decay out of equilibrium to generate a baryon asymmetry. If the X-boson mass lies below this value, a smaller baryon asymmetry is generated. It is shown that in this latter situation, equilibrated 2-2 scatterings between quarks and leptons mediated by virtual X, Y or Higgs bosons can rapidly damp out the baryon number for a wide range of possible masses and couplings. Decay and 2-2 scattering are also evaluated in anisotropic cosmological backgrounds and for heavy bosons evaporated by mini black holes
