The mean radial velocity and the dispersion of velocities for the
cluster A399, component of the X-ray pair A399/A401, are determined from
nine galaxies. The difference in radial velocities of the clusters is
1000 km/s. The mass of the pair estimated in two ways lies within
3.3-9.9 x 10 to the 15th solar mass.
