Observations of M87 made with the VLA in 1979 March at 2 and 6 cm are presented. Both total and polarized intensity maps are shown at both frequencies with 1 arcsec (6 cm) and 0.6 arcsec (2 cm) resolution. The maps show that the brightness distribution of the jet is very similar in the radio and optical regions of the spectrum. The brighter knots are resolved transverse to the jet. Minimum pressure calculations show that, although the knots are slightly larger than previously thought, the regions of emission are apparently out of pressure equilibrium with a surrounding medium unless the pressure in the ISM is much higher than previously thought. The jet is also not strictly linear, but seems to wiggle with sinusoidal oscillation and amplitude increasing as angular separation from the nucleus increases. Various ways of explaining the last two results are discussed briefly.
