An atlas of high dispersion profiles of Balmer lines of 50 objects which
are in the transition from AGB to PNe. The origin of these profiles is
discussed in terms of the dynamics of the gas ejected by the star in the
different phases of mass loss. The possible effects of electron
scattering are discussed as a mechanism for line broadening.
