Six new Wolf-Rayet stars located in the Large Magellanic Cloud have been detected during searches of plates taken with the UK 1.2-m Schmidt telescope. Two of these are WN stars; three are WC. Five of the six have been confirmed by slit spectra. Two of the WC stars are close to 30 Doradus and are approximately 3 mag fainter than any other known WC star in the LMC.
