Two separate age groups are presently discerned in color-magnitude diagrams of two fields near the periphery of the Small Magellanic Cloud that were obtained from electronographs. The first of the age groups is of intermediate age, at about 3 billion years, as previously recorded in other fields; the second is older, at about 5 billion years, yet considerably younger than the galactic globular clusters. This group is identified as belonging to the halo. A new photoelectric sequence in the Small Magellanic Cloud periphery is included.
