The authors have observed a number of X-ray binary candidates in the Galaxy and in the Magellanic Clouds in the optical, far ultraviolet and X-ray bands. They present preliminary results on two sources for which the photometric and spectroscopic data suggest the presence of an accretion disk. For another source (LMC X-1) the authors show several observational evidences of interaction of the strong X-ray source with the surrounding H II region and the discovery of an X-ray ionized He III region.
