The ellipticities of the systems of RR Lyrae stars in several globular clusters have been evaluated using a statistical method adapted from stellar kinematics. It is concluded that the RR Lyrae stars are good tracers of the overall forms of the clusters and that Shapley's (1917) result for the distribution of the variables in Omega Cen is probably incorrect. There is tentative evidence that the RR Lyrae star systems are more strongly flattened than the overall stellar population in the clusters and that the distributions of RRc variables are more strongly flattened than the overall variable star systems.
