The Space Telescope program is described and ESA participation is summarized. This comprises the Faint Object Camera (FOC) and associated Imaging Photon Counting System (IPCS), the solar arrays and deployment mechanisms, and support of the activities of the Scientific Center established to guide and perform the scientific program of the Space Telescope in its operational phase. In return for this participation, ESA is guaranteed 15 percent of the observing time of the Space Telescope during 10 years of space operations.
