A phase transition theory is developed on the basis of a relativistic scalar model. By considering spontaneous breakdown of symmetry (the masses of vector bosons and fermions are absent in the initial Lagrangian, and are generated by spontaneous breakdown of symmetry), the model forms an integral part of a unified theory of electromagnetic and weak interactions. It is pointed out that in processes involving temperature variations (in particular, in the evolution of a hot universe), energy balance of matter is disturbed by energy transfer from the Bose condensate.
