New data from the imaging photopolarimeter on Pioneer 10 are shown to
support the convection theory of Williams and Robinson (1973) about the
dynamics of Jupiter's unstable atmosphere. The principal features seen
in recent Jupiter pictures from Pioneer 10 are explained with the aid of
a model of convection in the Jovian atmosphere.
