Results are reported for patrol observations of two flare stars, EV Lac and UV Cet, with a 60-cm reflector in the U band, a 40-cm reflector in a narrow band at 8050 A, and a 48-cm reflector through a narrow-band interference filter centered at 7100 A. Synchronous observations with all three telescopes were made in 30% of the sessions, while the 60- and 40-cm telescopes were used simultaneously in the remaining 70%; the total number of flares observed were 32 for EV Lac in 99 hr 40 min of patrol time and 89 for UV Cet in 29 hr 40 min. Flare amplitudes, a correlation between the U and near-IR flare amplitudes, and a close correlation between U and near-IR total flare energies are determined. It is found that positive flares in the near-IR were synchronized with the optical flares detected in the U band, but about one-third of the flares detected exhibited a near-IR preflare dimming, the amplitude of which was comparable to that of the positive flares detected in the near-IR.
