A force with slower falloff than Newtonian gravitation cannot explain the observed correlation between cluster mass-ratio (Newtonian virial mass/luminous mass) and velocity dispersion. For clusters with mass ratios of the order of 10 to 100, a cosmological force with negative cosmological constant conflicts with the observed large range of ratios of cluster radius to velocity dispersion, and with the observed weak or negligible dependence of velocity dispersion on radius.
