A spectrographic study of the nuclear regions of the spiral galaxy NGC 6946 is presented. The electron density is found to be approximately 1000/cu cm, which is similar to the electron densities found in the nuclear regions of similar galaxies. A lower limit for the nitrogen abundance in the emitted gas is calculated from the relative intensities of the H alpha, (N II) and (S II) lines. Spectrographic data indicate that the electron temperature is approximately 5000 K and is less then 10,000 K. The corresponding lower limit for nitrogen abundance calculated as the ratio of nitrogen to hydrogen is 0.000058.
