Spectroscopic observations of Nova Cygni 1975 from August 30, 1975 to January 24, 1976 are reported. Broad H I and Fe II emission were the main features of the spectrum during the period shortly after maximum brightness, and forbidden Fe VII emission visible on October 9 indicate a rather high degree of ionization. The expansion velocity determined from the absorption spectrum was 2000 km/s during August 31-September 3. The absolute visual magnitude of the nova at maximum light is calculated to be -10.0.
