Scientists at NASA/Ames are studying a mission to detect Earth-Sized planets around solar-like stars. The mission calls for a high precision photometer to continuously and simultaneously monitor 5000 solar like stars for a period of six years with a precision of one part in 30,000. A workshop was held to discuss the usefulness of such data for studies of stellar variability, stellar seismology, activity cycles, rotation rates, etc. Results of the ideas for scientific investigations put forward at the workshop will be presented.
