Results of the physical and mathematical modeling of the development of meteor streams from comet nuclei through the isotropic ejection of matter are analyzed for the cases of the Lyrid, Ursid, Alpha-Capricornid, Orionid and Eta-Aquarid, and Andromedid streams and their corresponding comets (1861 I, 1939 X, 1954 III, 1910 II and 1852 III, respectively). Comparison of the model results with observational data for the comets and streams is used to confirm the association of various meteor streams with the respective comets and to place limits on matter ejection velocities. The possible influences of the Poynting-Robertson and Yarkovskii-Radzievskii effects on the semimajor axes and eccentricities of the model meteoroid orbits are also evaluated, and implications of the wide range of ejection velocities derived for stream formation mechanisms are indicated.
