The importance of understanding plasma equilibrium under the effects of
magnetic fields and plasma stability is stressed. The effect of
gravitational forces on plasma equilibrium is not dealt with. An
analytical solution is found for the nonlinear equation governing the
equilibrium of the plasma torus.
