Distances and masses for 101 planetary nebulae are presented on the basis of a mass-radius relation, using data from a previous study (Maciel and Pottasch, 1980), recently determined with the mass-radius relation through electron densities and selected distances. The objects were observed at 5 GHz and it was assumed that the ionized mass is the same for all optically thin nebulae. The distances were calculated using the zeroth-order distances given by Milne (1979) and the observed angular radii as outlined by Perek and Kohoutek (1967). Masses calculated for the objects of the present study were suggested to be correct within a factor of about 3, most of the uncertainty being due to error in the determination of the distances.
