The paper reports VLBI observations of the central components of several galaxies made at a wavelength of 6 cm. The radio galaxies selected for observations are known to possess flat-spectrum nuclear components, with flux densities of about 100 mJy at 4.8 GHz, with an accurate position. These sources are detected without exception, and most of them show a VLB flux density close to that measured by short-spacing interferometers. The weakest compact source detected is the central component of DA 240 with a correlated flux density of 35 mJy.
