A discussion is presented of new VBLUW photometry (Walraven system) of the X-ray binary HD 153919 (4U 1700-37) made in 1977 and 1978. A comparison is made with the results of previous seasons. To match all available steep rising branches after the deepest minimum, a period of 3d41180 seems to fit the best. The various types of the intrinsic variations (micro variability) of the Of supergiant primary are discussed. We distinguish three types: 1. the variations of at most 0.03 mag with a time scale of 0.5-1 d. 2. pulses with an amplitude of at most 0.02 mag and a time scale of 1-2 h. 3. the variations in the seasonal averages of the colour indices up to 0.018, 0.045, and 0.011 mag in B-L, B-U, and U-W respectively, with a time scale of more than 2 yr. Their origins are discussed. The interstellar reddening determined by Hammerschlag-Hensberge and Wu E(B-V)J = 0.52 mag is likely a reliable value.
