Radial velocities have been measured for the tight spiral in the nucleus of NGC 1512. For the orientation of the system given by Hawarden et al. (1979) with the position angle of the line of nodes φ = 265° we find expansional motions of 55 km s-1. For φ = 245° circular motions would fit the observations. A density wave picture with gas streaming inwards at a small angle to the spiral arms would require φ to be decreased to 238°.
The radial velocity and rotation of NGC 1510 has been measured from one spectrum.
