An investigation of the linear polarization in the June 29, 1999 flare with a powerful surge (the maximum velocity was about 160 km/sec) revealed an unusual behavior of the Stokes parameter profiles along the dispersion. We discuss the probability that photons propagating from the flare and passing through the surge generate a linearly polarized radiation of the surge.
