Lists are presented of two groups of spectral lines interesting for the study of solar and stellar magnetic fields, convection and atmospheric structure and appearing in the IR solar spectrum between 1.49 and 1.8 microns. The first group contains 130 spectral lines judged to be relatively unblended from a visual inspection of the spectra, while the second is composed of 30 lines exhibiting large Stokes V amplitudes in a quiet network, region. Some interesting aspects of these lines are discussed. In particular, it is pointed out that blending due to magnetically unsplit spectral lines, such as telluric lines, can seriously affect all four Stokes parameters.
