We propose to carry out flux density and spectral index monitoring of Sgr A* -the supermassive black hole at the Galactic Center - at 3- and 7-mm using the ATCA. So far, we have performed 3-mm ATCA flux density monitoring of Sgr A* for five times. These observations have demonstrated that the ATCA is very powerful in searching for IDV in Sgr A*. We hope to continue our effort to investigate not only the IDV but also the spectral index in Sgr A* to make a detailed study of the relationship of spectral index between flaring and quiescent states of Sgr A*. Although a number of models have been proposed to explain the low luminosity of quiescent flux and the origin of the flaring activity, the relationship between the quiescent and flaring states of Sgr A* is not fully understood. We believe that the long observing window of ATCA can enable us to better study the characteristics of the mm spectrum of Sgr A*. The proposed ATCA observations have the potential to provide strong astrophysical constraints for Sgr A* source emission model and form the basis for the study of long-term variability, as VLA did at cm-wavelengths.
