We propose to search for water masers, hot ammonia and methanol emission towards our galaxy-wide sample of massive young stellar objects and ultra-compact HII regions. We will be able to investigate the frequency of maser emission as a function of source luminosity and, together with our ongoing chemical evolution surveys, age. These observations are intended to pave the way for future ATCA observations.
